Animated music video is becoming a trend now,and compared to live action video,animation will cost less and won’t require more people behind the scenes,which won’t result in more expenses. Animated music video is new to eyes and have ability to being more popularity,more fan and more views.

I did a research of studio named The Line,based in London,I am obsessed with their commercial animation especially for Riot Games.It’s a music video presents VALORANT World Championship.

The production process
Environment design of Brimstone,encounter the fog of war both metaphorically and literally.The environment is misty and dreamlike.

Sage world is the most ethereal space.Light ,airy and fleeting,calm and serene.

Animated music video production pipeline:
1.Identify needs:
First,to completely comprehend the client’s needs and plan the path by criteria and factors,to understand the project needs,audiences,goals,core emotions,and theme of the songs.
2.Script
The copywriters craft scripts that connect with the theme of the music.
3.Storyboard
Storyboard is to create a static and still vision of script,with captions describing the story outline,including the camera staging,character poses,and event scenes.
4.Animatic
The dynamic version of the storyboard,including scratch vocals,music ,and the timeline of each shot,in order to show the scene of movement with better details.
5.Art design
To create all the assets,from characters and environments to props,whether 2D or 3D. Including concept art,modeling,rigging,texturing,etc.
6.Animating
The animator create the movements,position,rotating,and even scaling to mimic different poses to give the animation the feeling of motion,and before the final rendering,there will be a preview of stylish frame.
7.Final result
Rendering ,post production and composition.
Making three minutes of an animated music video takes between 1 to 3 months,multiple factors can affect this time span,such as being 2D or 3D,art style,number,the complexity of assets(characters,environments,objects)VFX,quality,budget,etc.
